F430 Scuderia carbon fiber engine pieces

The Ferrari F430 Scuderia has carbon fiber pieces everywhere. Here is a picture of the intake covers in in perfect 1x1 weave.

The back of the car also has perfect 1x1 carbon fiber.

ASM Siren Circuit Exhaust - the most expensive S2000 exhaust

The ASM Siren Circuit Exhaust is the most expensive S2000 exhaust available. It's $4,000 and made of stainless steel versus something more exotic like titanium. It's also only a 60mm exhaust versus more free-flowing 70mm, 76mm, and 80mm exhaust options.

The Siren exhaust is the one on the lower left. The lower right exhaust is their traditional 70mm single exhaust.

This exhaust is all about civilized sound. The ASM owner took me for a ride in their white/orange car around Yokohama and it's an amazing exhaust. Subtle and quiet to stay within strict Japanese db laws. Zero drone. Even clean sound throughout the RPM range. Signature dry ASM exhaust sound from special resonance chambers versus traditional exhaust packing. It's amazing exhaust engineering.

There are less than 700 Porsche Carrera GT's in the US. MSRP was $440,000.

Here are a few pictures that I snapped at a Cars and Coffee meet in Irvine.

The car has subtle touches. There's the wood shift knob. The automatic wing has stands made of carbon fiber.

The control that Ferrari has over the press on their cars

Chris Harris writes an insightful article about the control that Ferrari has over its cars and journalists that write about their cars. Pretty ridiculous. Cars are tuned for specific tracks. Different cars are offered for straight line and curves. Journalists can't drive a Ferrari road car without permission!

"Apart from the laughable track test stuff, as a journalist you are expressly forbidden from driving any current Ferrari road car without permission from the factory. So if I want to drive my mate's 458 tomorrow, I have to ask the factory. Will it allow me to drive the car? No: because it is of "unknown provenance," i.e. not tuned. I'm almost tempted to buy a 458, just for the joy of phoning Maranello every morning and asking if its OK if I take my kid to school."

Lexus LFA Official Introduction Video

I first saw this Lexus LFA video at the Tokyo Auto show in 2009 at the LFA world premier. It played in the background while hundreds of people started at the actual LFA on display.

The sound this car makes is incredible. It's tuned with Yamaha to deliver spine-tingling engine and exhaust notes.

$400,000. An electronic dash tech because a manual one can't keep up with the speed the engine RPM changes.

I watch this video over and over.

Tecnocraft makes very fancy dry carbon fiber parts for exotics like Lamborghini, Bentley, and others. The owner started on his own black Gallardo and expanded from there.

My favorite part from their lines is their carbon fiber bucket seat. The T1 came out a while back and the new T2 just came out. They start at $1,899.99 each.
