Buy one of 38 Ferrari FXX's! This is a 2006 model. It's sitting in Italty with Ferrari (they keep it for you) and supposedly owned by Lorne Leibel, a big-time Canadian land developer. His 24 year old son Cody might be the driver

You get to participate in all the upcoming FXX driving events. The next FXX event is at Infineon raceway in May.

The Ferrari P4/5 Competizione is what happens a really really rich guy who loves Ferrari's decides to build the ultimate race car. It's based of a Ferrari Enzo with a crazy carbon fiber body and more custom racing goodies than you can imagine. This is serious.

Top Gear was at the first track appearance. It's a worthwhile read.

Honda NSX-R

The second generation NSX-R was one of the last NSX's ever made and was only available in Japan. It launched as a 2002 model and like the racier versions of most sport cars, like the Ferrari Challenge and Gallardo Superleggera, the NSX-R had a bunch of weight removal with carbon fiber and part deletions that amounted to 100kg's on an already light car. It even had carbon-kevlar racing seats manufactured by Recaro.

I bought the NSX-R titanium shift knob from Japan. Crazy expensive, but fun having a piece of a Honda icon.

The Ferrari P4/5 Competizione is a one-off Ferrari for James Glickenhaus. It's a crazy combo of an F430 Scuderia and an F430 GT2 racing car.

Rock your car video games with the Playseat F1 Redbull

I play Gran Turismo 5 with a Logitech PlayStation 3 Driving Force GT Racing Wheel mounted on an $8 ikea table.

This Playseat F1 Redbull is obviously much better. It exactly reproduces the driving position of a Formula 1 racing car. It costs about $1200. But I figure at that price, you'd at least get leather versus vinyl.

Nismo Japan carbon fiber bucket seats for the GTR - $28k!

$27950 for a carbon fiber seat package for the Nissan GTR. Wow. At least you get two seats and you can make your regular GTR look like the Spec-V.

The limited edition-ness is what's interesting. These seats must be installed by Nismo in Japan. A regular person can't just order them from Japan. You pretty much have to have your car in Japan.


I found these seats on GT-RR.com, one of the biggest importers of Nissan GTR products. Then can get them...and at this price, it's a potential loss for them!

If you're going to buy these seats, maybe buy a $28k Nismo titanium exhaust?

Ferrari 16M Scuderia Spider carbon fiber roll hoop

 

The Ferrari 16M Scuderia Spider has carbon fiber everywhere. I didn't think I'd see some covering the roll hoops, though. Slick. That's what you get for about $310k

Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 drive!

Here's a video of driving the new Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4! The exterior is still covered, but you can catch some of the interior. The sound is the best part of the video. Turn up the volume

Hard core s2000 carbon fiber hardtops - Amuse and GT Motoring

The Amuse dry carbon S2000 hardtop is the most hard core limited edition hardtop available for the S2000. It's custom made in Japan and uses the rear glass from the Toyota MR2. With Honda OEM hardware, it runs about $10,000 through Bulletproof Automotive

GT Motoring in Chicago made their own dry carbon version of the OEM hardtop. It's custom made vacuum infused dry carbon fiber. You can get it in 1x1, 2x2, or 4x4 weave (pictured above). It also has kevlar composite for safety. Cost with hardware is about $5,000 if you want to use OEM hardware

Trying to pass a Ferrari F430 at Laguna Seca

This is at Laguna Seca. I'm trying to pass a fast Ferrari F430 driven by a bad driver. My instructor's screaming "GAS!" while I'm just trying not to rear-end the Ferrari. Note how fast the car can accelerate away from me.

Ferrari FXX soundtrack

Ferrari FXX. 30 in the world. #30 belongs to Michael Schumacher. 1.5 million euros for the car and you can only drive it on the race track through the included Ferrari racing program. You can't even take the car home.

The visual in this video sucks, but the sound is pretty good. Just close your eyes and put the volume on 100%

Lamborghini factory tour with National Geographic

It's the weekend and that means sitting in front of your computer watching car videos on youtube.

Someone chopped the Lamborghini factory tour from National Geographic. This is part 1/6. The series gives some history about Lamborghini and talks about how the Murcielago SV is made. The v12 engine is hand-built by 8 people takes 12 hours. 130 people work on the factory floor.

Mercedes 300SL Gullwing with matching suitcase

The Mercedes 300SL Gullwing is a beautiful classic car. They can sell for $400k+ depending on condition. What caught my eye in this picture was the matching leather suitcase. Not sure if it's original or custom made. Either way, it's slick.

Porsche GT2 RS - the ultimate Porsche

The Porsche GT2 RS is the ultimate Porsche (as of now). 500 of the 2011 version will be made. 620 hp. About $250k. 19 seconds quicker around the 'Ring than the very fast 911 Turbo S. And an unpainted carbon fiber hood just like you see on Honda Civic ricer cars.

A $35 titanium bolt?

Here's some more ASM high-quality-at-high-cost madness.

They will sell you one beautiful titanium washer and bolt for things like the engine area and license plate frames. The ASM lettering is extremely fine with sharp edges and nearly completely smooth. Only 60 pieces worldwide.

ONE costs $35 if you can even get it. Importers usually sell them for $65 each in the US.
